I cried myself to sleep last night, devastated by the knowledge that by morning, Trump would be our president-elect. Sure enough, he is.
What do we tell the boys? I asked my husband. Trump is nothing but hate – for women, minorities, and immigrants and he’s a bully.
Do we live in an echo chamber? Is that how we missed the real possibility of his electoral college win? Late yesterday afternoon, my Facebook and Twitter feeds were filled with hope but as the evening progressed, we were all shocked and horrified as the election results came in.
I don’t know what to do today except mourn for my country and figure out what I personally can do to make sure my family and friends who have been targeted by the Trump hate rhetoric know that they are loved and are welcome in this country.
