Future President’s piggy bank has been filled to the brim and we finally counted up the coins today. The grand total was $19.41.
On our almost daily trip to Target, he checked out his options and selected two cars (of course). After we paid, he asked if the cars were for potty chart or chore chart. I told him he could open them now because he used his money and even had $7 left. He looked at me with a dubious expression and sighed, “Ok.” And then tore into the packages.
I don’t think he has any notion how much money he actually had except that it was enough to buy some cars but not enough to buy the giant Thomas the train set. I want to teach him that it takes time to earn money to buy things we want, rather than just getting to buy anything any time. This is a good start.
