Spreading Christmas Cheer Part 2

As you know, I love cheap and free outings to do with my toddler. Here are three more holiday-related cheap and free things to do in the Portland area as we get ready to celebrate Christmas. Can you believe we’re less than two weeks away? It will be a miracle if the mini tree we put up survives until then.

  1. Christmas in Dairyville at the Alpenrose Dairy
Totally free, this is a great option for the animal-loving toddler in your life. Alpenrose Dairy transforms into Dairyville with vintage storefronts where you can enjoy refreshments, choir performances, holiday movies and visit Santa.
  2. The Santa Train (December 15 only)
Watch Santa arrive on a vintage train at the Vancouver, Washington Amtrak station. Kids can enjoy hot chocolate, cider and cookies for free.
  3. The Lights on Peacock Lane
Walk or drive through this neighborhood of brightly lit homes. Free.
