My beautiful friend Lais shared this gluten recipe with me and after trying it, this is a go-to recipe for big family dinners and potluck. This recipe calls for a pressure cooker, which I was lucky enough to receive as a Christmas present. If you’re looking for a meat alternative, you should definitely give it a try. This is much tastier than a lot of veggie food out there.
½ diced onion
Olive oil (I don’t have specific measurement for this, I just dump some in)
½ jar of tomato sauce (use whatever kind you like, I usually do a little more tomato sauce)
Oregano – also no specific measurement
5 leaves – Bay leaf
2 tbsp Mc Kay beef style
½ cup soy sauce
½ cup ground walnuts (sometimes I just put it whole)
Water until you fill up half of the pressure cooker
1 ½ cups Dopep (or Vital Wheat flour)
½ cup wheat flour
1 ½ cups water
Mix the two flours first. Add water and mix until dough is smooth consistency.
Cut in small pieces, stretch out each piece a little bit and put in the sauce.
When pressure starts on pressure cooker turn heat to medium and cook for 40 min.
Serve with pasta, potatoes, rice, quinoa, or even as a sandwich.
