This week G. and I went on a date–a free date! G’s co-worker had tickets to the Nationals v. Braves game but he couldn’t go, so he offered them to G. and I. We were thrilled, especially when the co-worker causally mentioned the seats were four rows behind home plate! When we arrived, we were so glad we had brought gloves, jackets, and worn long underwear because it was really cold! But the seats were amazing (not quite 4 rows back, but amazing nonetheless) and I’m pretty sure we’re not going to be sitting that close to home plate any time soon! Not many Nats fans showed up to the game–I’m pretty sure more people were cheering for the Braves. The Nats lost and we left feeling like winter had descended upon the city again. But we were happy we got to go, eat junk food, and enjoy some Americana. It was especially touching when the Nats came out wearing VTech hats in honor of the victims of Monday’s shooting.
