I hardly ever watch the news–there’s really no excuse for it, but today I’ve been glued to the TV as the country observes a day of mourning for the victims of the tragedy that occurred at Virginia Tech on Monday. When I was reading Nineteen Minutes, I felt sorry for the shooter because of how he was treated and I was interested to note that the media has reported students “forgiving” the shooter at VTech. I don’t know if I could ever forgive someone for shooting my sister, brother, husband, parent, or friend. But I’m glad that there are people in the world that can do that. I just wanted to put it out there that I’m sorry this happened too. I really don’t know how to express my shock and horror that someone would do this and destroy so many lives.
P.S. As I’m watching the news, CNN is reporting that a shooter is holed up in the Johnson Space Center and has fired bullets. Really, what is going on?
